Bell 206 Shaking In Flight

It’s been a few updates and months since I’ve flown the 206 (the skid version; haven’t flown the float version yet), so maybe something’s changed that I missed, but I’ve noticed the panel (and seemingly the whole airframe) is shaking with varying intensity starting around 70KTS give or take, sort of like when you have the doors removed and you get going too fast, except, they’re not. What might be causing this and how do I alleviate it?

Check that you are in trim. (The little ball in a curved tube) If you have your tail out into the wind the airfoil will push it back in then rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the reply Rick! It’s not the same kind of side-to-side low frequency shaking/swaying around the vertical axis you get from poor coordination, although keeping the ball perfectly centered in the doghouse seems to help at times, it doesn’t completely eliminate the shaking. I did however notice during a longer flight today that it seemed to ebb and flow with the turbulence, making me wonder if it had something to do with Active Sky FS, which I’d brought since the last time I flew the 206. So I tried turning it off and eureka! No more shaking. It would seem that some ASFS settings are not interacting well with the 206, so I’ll try experimenting with some different settings there and if can the two to play nice with each other.

Glad that’s sorted! If you find any good settings for Active Sky, let everyone know!

Thanks,
