Bell 47G and MSFS 2024

Hi together,
I installed the heli (latest download) in the MSFS24 community folder without problems.
After that I found the Bell with running engine on ground. It was recognised by Helimanager correctly. But:

  • neither an input by mouse or mouseclick
  • nor any instruments shows an effect, also during “flight”
  • Collective and pedals…works corrextly.
    Whats wrong???
    Regards

That version will fly fine (the FM works great) but much of the animation isn’t working in 2024. The update, which is being tested now should fix all of that. Later on we will be doing a bespoke full art and systems update for 2024 that will add many new 2024 specific features. Stay Tuned!

Thank you for this quick reply.
I’ll be patient.Promised!

I’m not that lucky. I did find the 47 under aircraft, but the controls are locked and the screen tells me to run helimanager. It’s fine on 2020 but no joy in 2024.

I lucked out. The update gave me many things, including the ability to use heli manager.

It’s all good now.

YES! the Bell 47 and the 206 Now work in MSFS2024. We will be releasing an update for 2020 that adds some new art and features in preparation for completely bespoke versions of all our aircraft for MSFS 2024 that will include 2024 specific features and take advantage of some new visual tweaks.

Stay Tuned!

When I enabled the 2020 Bell 47 in MSFS 2024, like the OP, I have a helicopter sitting on the ramp with the rotor spinning. However, because the sim sees the Bell 47 as an Airplane Object instead of a Helicopter Object, I’m unable to map any helicopter specific controls (Cyclic, Collective, etc) to my peripherals so on the ramp we sit. FWIW I purchased the Bell 47 via Steam. Suggestions welcomed.

That is an Asobo issue. Just use Airplane control Aileron/Elevator and Rudder. For Collective Throttle 1 and for Twist grip throttle use Prop 1

This is covered in the Manuals. Use the links on our website where the Updates are for current manuals.

Thanks,

Thanks Rick - My bindings worked great in 2020. I’m contemplating a purchase IRL and have really enjoyed getting to know the Bell 47 thru FlyInside’s detailed modeling. I’ll give your recommended setting a shot tomorrow and report back here.

I had the same issue with it showing up under the airplane category and no where under helicopters. In this state you cannot get access to assign any helicopter controls. What I did was find my fly inside bell 47G in the MSFS 2024 community folder. Dig down ito simobjects and find the aircraft.cfg and open it. Right at the top you will see
Category “airplanes” change airplanes to helicopters and save it. Go back and do it for the floats version aircraft.cfg. Restart the sim and both will show up under the helicopters category in the sim. Now you can configure the controls. My config profiles for my joystick, my collective works but for your rudder pedals you will have to add rudder axis to it. Tested and it works great flying around but was too busy looking around to look and see if the gauges worked, but light switches work. The exterior camera view is too close. Love this thing so much I had to get it to work. It looks better in VR than it did in 2020. This was ordered from the fly inside website, not sure if you have access to edit the files if ordered through marketplace. Looking forward to the 2024 official version.
